What is Man’s Chief Purpose on Earth?
What is man’s chief purpose on earth? It is a question that lingers in the minds of many people in this world. What is God’s plan for my life? What does God expect of me? What is one thing needful for us all? It is indeed a question which every man and woman must realize its answer, otherwise, the life lived will be totally wasted and better to have never been lived at all. What is man’s chief purpose on earth? The earlier we realize its answer the better.
The better way to live is to have a purpose. When we lack purpose, we are sure to fail, be irresponsible, and feel empty and worthless. As we live we must seek that one thing if accomplished, is the grand reason of our existence. We live in age where pursuits of every kind are being championed as fulfillment of one’s life. So what’s the main agenda of us here? Because if we miss this, it matters nothing what else we have accomplished in the past.
Man’s chief purpose on earth can only be answered by God. It is God who created us, and everything on this planet and He is the only one who sustains us. That question cannot be answered by your parent or any motivational speaker? Are we here just to make a world a better place? Are we here to grow up, have fun, enjoy life and then just like grass we die? Are human beings something more than dust? These are serious questions. Although some may object to this truth, it is very clear that our conscience tells us that there is more than flesh and blood. We are made of something far beyond the beasts that perish.
The who created us has not left us in the darkness to find our ways back to Him but H has revealed Himself unto us through His Word. Now, what has He said concerning man? He has spoken in His Word.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13KJV
The chief end of man is not pursuit of wealth, fame, money, knowledge or whatever else man find passion in. Although these pursuits may not be sinful in themselves, they are not the chief reason why man is here. The chief purpose of man is to please God and obey him. Is this your desire?
