Abel Damina False Teachings
Abel Damina is a Nigerian author, Pastor and tele evangelist. He is senior pastor of City of Power City International Church Nigeria. The 63 year old has gained huge following gaining more than 700k followers on Abel damina Facebook page.
Huge following has brought Abel Damina out and many questions have been raised concerning his teachings following utterances he has been making during his sermons over the years.
It seemed good to us to share some of things which Abel Damina has said in his preaching and compare them with scripture. We hope that dear Christians will take time and see if Abel Damina is scriptural.
The following are false teachings of Abel Damina.
1. God Cannot Kill
The verse below tells me that God kills.
Deuteronomy 32:39
[39]See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
2. God did not send the flood of Noah.
Genesis 6:7,13,17
[7]And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
[13]And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
[17]And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Maybe he has not yet read these verses.
4. Adam did not eat anything in the Garden.
Well, this is a false claim. This false teacher has no idea of what Bible says. Genesis 3: makes it clear that Adam also ate the forbidden fruit. The book of Genesis speaking about the fall says:
Genesis 3:6
[6]And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
5. Sin of Adam did not affect the whole world.
Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
1 Corinthians 15:21-22
[21]For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
[22]For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
6. Communion is Obsolete
Holy communion, in other words, Lord’s Supper, was instituted by Jesus Christ with its main purpose being to be done for his remembrance.
He said, as often you take this, you proclaim Lord’s death till I come. So the Abel Damina’s claim that communion is Obsolete shows his lack of understanding scriptures.
7. Satan, not God brought fire on Elijah’s sacrifice
Loically, this doesn’t make sense at all, because historically the event that led to the calling down of fire was a contest between the agent of God (Elijah) and the agents of darkness or Satan(the prophets of baal) so for Satan to answer God’s agent’s request by sending down fire to destroy his (Satan) own agents is the highest form of absurdity logically!
Philosophically, it raises serious problems about which God was powerful in that particular context and in the contest since the challenge was that, the God who answers by fire is the ultimate and worth following. (Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.” So all the people answered and said, “It is well spokenI Kings 18:24 NKJV).
On the basis of the above, either Dr Abel Damina is calling the Christian God (the God of the Bible and the God who answered the prayer of his agent Elijah) satan, which is blasphemy in it highest form per the teachings of Jesus (Mat 12;31) or he serves a DIFFERENT god contrary to the God of the Bible!
Philosophically, for him to claim to be a Christian and a believer of the Bible and hold this position is not only self defeating proposition it also violate the Law of Non-contradiction!
8. You Don’t Need God to Succeed
It may seem to be true since there are many people put there who have succeeded in getting fame, wealth and power yet without God.But scripture is very clear that the earth and the fulness thereof is Lords.
It is nonsense to claim that you don’t need God to have anything yet all things a man can possess come from Him. Those who claim so speak ignorantly, not knowing that it is God who has granted them what they have.
9. God is Greatest Failure.
Abel Damina claims God is a Failure because Adam disobeyed him thus destroying God’s original plan.
Abel seems not to understand that God is omniscient (He know absolutely everything). There are no surprises to God. The fall, was foreseen even before the creation was created ex-nihilo (out of nothing).
The lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8) to bring salvation to all mankind. Damina’s claim shows his ignorance of Bible, which is a mark of false teachers.
10. 41 chapters of Job were based on Rumors.
This is a dangerous claim for someone who calls himself a pastor to make. He will boast he is a Christian yet does not believe in the inerrancy of Bible? He does not believe that all the 66 books of the Bible are inspired.
If 41 chapters of Job were based on Rumors, why trust the rest? Who told him so? Since the rest of writers including Jesus talked of Job, were they lying?
Abel Damina is a false teacher , wolf and heretic. He must be avoided like a flu. He is worse than cancer.
Conclusion:
A bereanic approach to the Abel Damina’s approach will expose his heretical teachings he has been preaching. He is a prosperity gospel preach and has claimed that several accounts in the Bible are not real. This is worrying looking at how many people this wolf in sheep’s clothing is leading astray.
Mark and avoid him.
