ONLY 1 WAY TO SALVATION
Are you looking for a way to avoid the eternal consequences of your sin? Jesus is the only way to salvation. Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”John 14:6.
What is Salvation?
Many people profess to be saved and cannot explain what salvation is. The Bible teaches that mankind has sinned against the Holy and Just God. Therefore, we deserve the wages of sin, which is death (Romans 6:23). Since God is holy, He cannot entertain sin before Him, and His justice demands that he must punish sin. All mankind is guilty before God for breaking His Holy law. The Bible teaches that God’s wrath rests on all who have sinned. (Romans 3).
Salvation means being delivered or rescued from the eternal consequences of our sins. It also means being delivered from the wrath of God, which sits upon the children of disobedience. It also means being delivered from the power of sin and its dominion. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace to mankind. But how can God save us from our sins and the same time, be just?
Who Bears Our Sins?
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 ESV
God cannot just forgive because this will make him unjust. God is very serious about sin. He must punish it, and those who break His law must face eternal death in a place called hell. What happens to our sins then for God to save us? The Bible teaches that God sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins so that those who believe in him should not perish but have eternal life. God did this for His love for us.
God made Christ (who was without sin) to sin so that we (sinners) might become the righteousness of God. Christ kept God’s law perfectly for us; at last, he was punished for our iniquities. He died for our sins. Christ bore our sins at the cross of Calvary almost 2000 years ago.
Conclusion
Those who seek to be saved then must cease from whatever they are doing and put their faith in Christ alone. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone to the Glory of God alone. We hold the Biblical teaching that salvation is in Christ alone and not in any other. It is by faith alone that Christians are justified. By faith alone, not works.
