Nashville Shooting: How Should Christians Respond?
On Monday 27th March 2023, 28-year-old Audrey Hale who identifies as a woman went into an elementary school and shot 6 people among them six children. When we received the news, we were devastated hearing the story. Our hearts sobbed and we are deeply sorry for the church, families, and friends who have lost their lives through such a devastating experience.
When shall these school shootings stop? When will all these things end? How long Lord? It is not the first time to hear of School shootings, especially in the United States. It is very saddening to hear this again and again. It is hurting to just admit that someone decided just to go into a school and end people’s lives just like that.
The Police responded and the shooter was shot dead at 10:27 am local time. Nevertheless, the loss, pain, and sorrow remain. We pray that Good Lord may comfort the families who are in this desperate situation.
We live in a world that does not value human life as it should. We live in a world of war. We live in an age where the unborn are murdered mercilessly and defenselessly. This is sad and heartbreaking. What a cruel world to live in!
Who knows what may happen next? From Terror alerts and rumors of wars to mass shootings, we live on the edge of death. It seems to be very near us on every side.

How Shall We Respond ?
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV
We acknowledge that we are hurt and that we live in a broken sin-burdened world. Even Jesus promised us that, “In this world, we shall have trouble but he told us to take heart for he had overcome the world.” And that is what exactly we can do; take heart dear one for Christ has overcome the world.
