DO NOT SUGARCOAT THE GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:23 KJV
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
Reducing consumer resistance is something that producers do in order to please their customers’ tastes, fashions and preferences. For if you don’t give the market what they demand, then you are just going to lose.
But when it comes to Gospel, you should not sugarcoat it to make it pleasing unto man. We should never hesitate when we are speaking from scripture for the fear of ridicule from the natural man.
As long as what you are preaching to the natural man is not foolishness, then be sure that you have not preached what is Gospel! Apostle Paul was preaching the Gospel which seemed foolishness to the Jews and Gentiles. To the Jews he had done away with the ceremonial law and he had clearly shown them that law was unable to save! To the Gentiles he offended them with his simplicity of Gospel for they desired some mystical or philosophical knowledge. He didn’t mind who liked or did not like the Gospel!
