After Life?

“It is appointed for men to die once, and after this the judgement.” Hebrews 9:27



Whether you believe if there is an After-Life or not, one thing is very sure; men do not live forever. They die. Though you are alive now, one day will die. Whether you like or not, everything you have to your name will be left behind; your money, fame ,family and power. Whether rich or poor, leader or a worker, old or young, your last day is approaching fast like a lightning. Though it may seem far away, you will soon realize that you do not have long time on this globe. The day is already appointed by God, and you should consider your ways.



The Bible says that it is appointed for men once to die. In the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:17), God told Adam that they were not to eat from the tree of Knowledge and Evil, ‘.. for the day they eat of it, they shall surely die.’ In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve succumbed to the lie of Serpent and sin entered the world. Though Satan deceived them that they shall not surely die. Though they did physically die immediately, they later died. The sting of death is passed to us all- children of Adam. We have seen and heard people dying. How sad it is!



Everybody of sound mind knows people do not live forever. Perhaps you don’t believe that there is life after death. You may have been told by atheists and science, so called, that we are no better than beast that perish and after death, we rot and become manure. Enemies of God may have convinced you that there is no God and all that you do here will end with you. It is not so. Psalms 14 starts with these words, ‘A fool says in his heart, “there is no God.” The first sign of a fool is a denial of existence of God. A creature denying existence of its maker is a sure proof of radical depravity of man. A man may know of Jacobian, Dichotomous Key, Stress analysis and Thermodynamics and read books until he is like a walking encyclopedia but if he holds to the myth that there is no God, he is a fool.

It is not death only which man should take notice of but what comes after. After death, the judgement. It is the judgement which ought to awaken any person who is ignorant of eternal things. The Bible talks about judgement. Every man and woman and child, all are sinners before God (Romans 3:10). Since God is just, they all deserve eternal punishment in a place called Hell. All men are guilty before because they have disobeyed God and broken God’s Holy Law. It is just for God to send all mankind to hell because of their sin.



Is there hope for mankind? Thanks be to God for Jesus Christ (John 3:16). There is hope for children of Adam through Christ Jesus. What did Jesus do? Christ Jesus, came down from Heaven , was born by virgin Mary in Bethlehem, lived sinless life obeying perfectly God’s law and died at the cross for our sins. He rose again on the third for our justification. (Mathew 1:23, 2:5, 1:21, 1 John 2:2, 1 Corinthians 5:21).

Christ is calling everyone to be born again by repenting of their sins and believing in Him ALONE for salvation of their souls. (John 3:3, 3:36, Mathew 11:28, John 14:6) Those who come to Him by faith, though how vile and sinful they may feel, He is able to save to the uttermost. (Ephesians 2:8) Those who believe in Him, though they have sinned against Holy God and deserving Hell, He has credited His righteousness to them (Romans 3:22-26). On judgement day, they will not be found guilty because Christ died for their sins and paid their debt. They shall be welcomed home (Heaven) because of what Christ did for them. Those who reject and refuse to believe in Christ who is able to save them, they shall meet God without mediator and shall be found guilty and thrown to Hell. (Revelation 20:15)



Now, will you believe in Him?
