Pope Francis Contradicts the Bible

Pope Francis contradicted the scriptures recently when he said, “We are all fundamentally good. Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.” He said this in an interview with 60 Minutes available here. Now take a deep breath because we will dissect this statement with scripture right now.

What does the Bible say?  Well, scripture does not respect the opinions of men.  The Bible in Jeremiah 17:9-10 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick; who can understand it? I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

According to the Bible, our hearts are deceitful and wicked. It is difficult for men to understand. God searches the heart and tests the mind to know our intentions and even to repay us according to our ways.

We are born in sin. Our hearts are naturally opposed to God. That is the reason we naturally love sin. The Romans 3:10 says;

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know.“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Of course, some people have done much wickedness. But it is just the restraining hand of God that we have not gone to that extent. We are just as wicked as they are. Our hearts are the same, bad. The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart.

Pope Francis continues to mislead so many Catholics with so many unbiblical claims. He recently claimed that priests can bless same-sex couples despite the Bible stating that homosexuality is a sin. Pope defended the LGBTQ+ community telling the AP that laws criminalizing homosexuality are “unjust,” and calls upon Catholic bishops who support the laws to welcome LGBTQIA+ people into the church: “Being homosexual isn’t a crime,”
