It is a moment of confusion among teachers, students, and parents in Matinyani Secondary School, the school that topped the 2022 KCSE Results, after its 2023 KCSE results were held by the examining body KNEC.
The results obtained from the portal for individual students have W as a designated grade, which means the results have been withheld on the suspicion that the candidate engaged in exam malpractice and investigations are ongoing.
It is reported that there was an issue that had the school’s head, Mr. Nelson Mureithi taken to DCI offices after some people raised concerns that there could be exam cheating at the school during the exam period. All this is hearsay and cannot be ascertained.
A screenshot shared online showing mean grades as W confirms that Matinyani High School performance for KCSE 2023 will indeed take some time until we can know for sure how the school performed.
Once the investigations are done and the school is clean, the students will get their results. The school is in communication with the KNEC and relevant parties to resolve the issue as soon as possible and have results released.
More patience is needed at this time as the school resolves the issue. We at Pilgrim Meditations hope that the boys have done better than last year and we are optimistic that the results will be better.
Matinyani Boys came to light last year when it knocked down St. Charles Lwanga Kitui and St. Anne’s Muthale Girls to the top in Kitui County having a mean score of B+ OF 9.94 points
